A new television show produced by the BBC will be filming a flashmob in the city of San Francisco in the first week of September, and you can be a part of it!

According to The LA Times, the television show will be produced by the BBC and shown in the U.S. on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) as well as BBC in the U.K. in the fall of 2014.

Entitled How We Got to Now, the show will be hosted by its creator, author Steven Johnson, and explain how certain inventions have reverberated throughout history.

As part of the show, the BBC will be filming a flashmob in the city of San Francisco in the first week of September. While we’re still unsure about which part of the show the flashmob will be shown in, we wanted to give our readers advanced notice so they can participate.

At the time of writing this article, the event is scheduled to occur Monday, September 9 at 5:30 p.m.. You can RSVP to the event on Facebook for more details about where the event will be happening.

Participants will be given an MP3 to download before the scheduled time, and at 5:30 p.m. on Monday they will all hit play at the same time, and follow directions given to them through the MP3.

This is just like Improv Everywhere‘s MP3 Experiment events held annually in New York City. For an example of what you can expect, check out the video below.

Once again, be sure to RSVP to the Facebook event for updates on the location and how to get the MP3.

Will you attend the flashmob?
