The UK version of the popular music competition show, The Voice, has proved to be a big hit, with 9.6 million viewers (very large for a reality show) watching the premiere show.
It has beaten both the premiere shows of Simon Cowell’s The X Factor UK and Britain’s Got Talent, the fifth series of which premiered at the same time as The Voice and only got 1.8 million more viewers.
The coaches on The Voice UK are Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am, 2011’s biggest breakthrough Jessie J, Welsh legend Sir Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue, lead singer of Irish rock group The Script.
The Voice UK continues Saturday at 7 p.m. BST on BBC1.
