Bayonetta 3 is still under development, but the wait for the Umbra Witch’s next adventure is leaving fans clamoring for more.

Starved for information and patiently waiting for the Bayonetta 3 Switch release date, fans have been left without much more than a brief 2017 Game Awards announcement trailer to keep them satiated.

Finally, more word on Bayonetta 3 has surfaced, this time from PlatinumGames’ co-founder Hideki Kamiya. Responding to a fan’s query for more information on the Bayonetta 3 release date, Kamiya had the following simple statement to say:

“Development’s going really well,” states Kamiya. “There you go.” Likely tired of being asked the same question again and again, Kamiya’s tweet relates that the process of developing Bayonetta 3 has been quite the long road. Fortunately, it seems like the train to push out Bayo’s third adventure has been chugging along quietly for some time now.

Recently, PlatinumGames studio head Atshushi Inaba stated that “in the case of Bayonetta it took a lot of time and energy to get it to the point where sequels could be made. It wasn’t as simple as picking up the phone and asking, ‘Hey, can we do this?’ There were a lot of pieces that needed to fall into place and a lot of negotiating that had to occur.”

Inaba’s comments on how the Bayonetta series has taken “a lot of time and energy” to develop likely translates to the current sentiment of the team crafting Bayonetta 3. It’s going to be a long road ahead, but the Nintendo Switch console exclusive Bayo game will (hopefully) release in the coming decade.

‘Bayonetta 3’ release date announcement

The Bayonetta 3 release date announcement could be coming any day now, as the second title in the action-based series released five years after 2009’s Bayonetta 2.
