Warner Bros. and Batman v Superman returned to Hall H less than 24 hours after Lucasfilm and Star Wars offered a very special evening for fans. Talk about pressure!

Update 2: Here’s the Suicide Squad trailer!

Update: Warner Bros. has released a nice new Batman v Superman poster to celebrate today’s Comic-Con panel:

Luckily for attendees (many of whom camped out overnight), Warner Bros. did not disappoint. The highlight of their DC panel was two new trailers for Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The trailer for the latter was released online today.

Here are the highlights…

‘Batman v Superman’

Director Zack Snyder and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, and Gal Gadot were on hand to present the 3-minute trailer to fans. And guess what? WB released it online! Watch below:

The new Batman v Superman trailer received a standing ovation in Hall H, and for good reason. Fans enjoyed it so much that everyone started chanting for it to be played again (WB honored the request at the end of the panel).

Interestingly, the trailer revealed that Bruce Wayne was at the Battle of Metropolis in Man of Steel, and that’s the reason he gets pissed at Superman. “He has the power to wipe out the entire human race. I’m going to have to destroy him,” Bruce Wayne says of Superman in the trailer. They also showed Wonder Woman using her powers, and Lex looking freaking creepy. “Black and blue. God versus man. Day versus night,” Lex says.

After the trailer, Snyder revealed that Gotham and Metropolis are sister cities that are only separated by a bay, like Oakland and San Francisco in California.

Affleck recalled a bizarre moment running into Christian Bale at a Halloween costume store in the children’s Batman aisle. When Affleck asked for advice playing the role, Bale said, “make sure you can piss in that suit.”

Following the trailer, the actors briefly offered teases about their characters and the film. Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor) said the film is emotionally grounded, while Gal Gadot said Wonder Woman is “very sophisticated, loving, and has a lot of emotional intelligence.”

“This is a huge opportunity to show the strong, beautiful side of women,” Gadot said of Wonder Woman.

‘Suicide Squad’

The first Suicide Squad trailer was shown in Hall H and everyone in attendance was very happy with the 3-minute preview. Lots of footage of Harley Quinn, The Joker, and a tagline which reads “Justice has a bad side.” The cast appeared on stage (except for Jared Leto) and Warner Bros. showed some new promo art on their big screens:

“I’m not gonna kill ya, I’m just gonna hurt ya really… really bad,” says Leto’s Joker in the trailer. The trailer is currently not online.

Suicide Squad was the first film presented in the DC portion of the panel with the cast visiting from Toronto! “It’s all about bad versus evil,” said director David Ayres of his film. “Who’s got the best bad guys out there? DC Comics. I’m not trying to start no east coast / west coast feud with Marvel Comics, but someone has got to say the truth.”

The DC portion of the panel also revealed the Green Lantern movie is going to be called Green Latern Corps, suggesting that there will be multiple heroes in that film.

Batman v Superman’s panel matched the excitement that J.J. Abrams and Star Wars offered. Things had gotten off to a good start last night for Batman — director Zack Snyder rolled up to the line in the Batmobile and handed out shirts to fans:
