Good news for those who can’t attend San Diego Comic-Con, Batman: The Killing Joke is planning a one night only release in movie theaters!

For a while it’s been known that fans would be able to see Batman: The Killing Joke at San Diego Comic-Con this summer ahead of its release on DVD and Blu-ray. However, that left out a large part of fans who can’t attend the event. Luckily, they will also have the chance to see the animated movie ahead of the August 2 release as well.

The viewings, run by Fathom Events, will be on Monday, July 25 in two showings at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. local time. This is just three days after the film will premiere at San Diego Comic Con, so fans should be able to avoid spoilers if they wish. Tickets for the event go on sale June 17 and can be purchased through Fathom Events.

There will also be a special feature for the Fathom event: “Experience a special introduction from Mark Hamill plus a never-before-seen documentary about how Hamill was cast in this project and what the role means to him as an actor and a fan. The event will conclude with a special behind-the-scenes look at how the Joker’s memorable, yet disturbing song and dance number was recreated for the film.”
