Following an enigmatic tweet from Batfleck, it looks like the solo Batman film has found its main villain in Deathstroke, with other reports confirming the news.

The tweet came from the actor on Monday morning:

There’s no sound or really much information to gather at all, but it’s clear that Affleck is filming a monitor where Deathstroke walks up close to the camera and glares right at us.

Following this tweet, The Wrap checked with a source close to the film, who confirmed Deathstroke is indeed meant to be the main villain of the movie.

Deathstroke’s real name is Slade Wilson, and he was only 16 years old when he first enlisted in the United States Army. He was then chosen for a secret experiment that enhanced his physical powers and made him into a metahuman, where the Army essentially used him as a super soldier. Wilson later became a mercenary after he defied orders.

We’ve seen Deathstroke on The CW’s Arrow, where he was played by Jeffrey C. Robinson, Manu Bennett, and Jamie Andrew Cutler, with each of them portraying a different version of the character. Bennett was the only one to play Slade Wilson specifically.

We haven’t seen much of Deathstroke or various members of the Suicide Squad since the DC cinematic universe has expanded, as those characters have been reserved for the films instead.

According to SlashFilm, Joe Manganiello is rumored to be playing the villain, but there’s been no official news yet.
