The Bad Boys for Life trailer features all the car chases, explosions and Will Smith and Martin Lawrence banter your Bad Boys loving heart could desire.

It’s been almost 25 years since the original Bad Boys movie lit up the screen and 16 since Bad Boys II brought back our two favorite police partners. In fact, the third Bad Boys film had been rumored and gestating for so long that it seemed to some like it might never get made.

The movie was first announced all the way back in 2008, originally being called Bad Boys III before eventually landing on Bad Boys for Life.

Despite the near decade of being trapped in pre-production hell, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have pulled through and yesterday gave us a delightful look at the upcoming third movie in the series, Bad Boys for Life.

Check out the trailer below, which features both the Inner Circle song from the original movie and the P. Diddy song from the sequel!

Bad Boys for Life features the well-worn cop movie trope of being ‘too old for this shit,’ with Martin Lawrence’s Detective Marcus Burnett now a police inspector and Will Smith’s Detective Mike Lowrey going through a midlife crisis. The two aging Detectives team up to take down Armando Armas, played by Jacob Scipio, who is the head of a ruthless drug cartel.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will return from the first two films, along with Joe Pantoliano as Captain Conrad Howard.

They’ll likewise have help from Miami PD’s elite AMMO team, who will be played by Vanessa Hudgens, Charles Melton and Alexander Ludwig.

While the original Bad Boys and Bad Boys II were both directed by Michael Bay, Bad Boys for Life will be directed by Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

Bad Boys for Life will be released in theaters nationwide on January 17, 2020.
