With only a few days until The Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters in the United States, Sesame Street has joined the conversation with a spoof titled The Aveggies: Age of Bon Bon.
In the Avengers parody, Cookie Monster and his team of Avengers heroes including Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, and Captain America take on the evil Bon Bon who wishes to remove all of the world’s veggies (is the absence of veggies in the world really a problem? Oh, right, we’re educating children). Cookie Monster is eager to help the Aveggies but has a hard time staying focused on the enemy because he too is obsessed with desserts.
By the end of the parody we see that Cookie Monster is the missing Avenger: The Hulk. He grows huge, turns green, and starts eating all of the cookies that Bon Bon is trying to destroy the vegetables with. Success!
The Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters in the United States this Friday. It’s already in theaters internationally, where it has already grossed more than $200 million at the box office — a 40% increase over the first Avengers movie in 2012.
Sesame Street loves to parody upcoming pop culture releases. Recent examples include their spoofs on House of Cards and Game of Thrones season 5.
