Marvel released the latest poster for The Avengers: Age of Ultron on Tuesday, and the artwork is… less than impressive.

For a billion dollar franchise, you’d expect the Photoshop work to be a little more polished. Unfortunately Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor stick out like sore thumbs. The characters simply don’t mesh well in this group shot, and their placement around the poster only makes things worse. When I first saw this poster I honestly thought it was fan art.

New characters like Ultron’s minions, Vision, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch appear in the background as Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawk Eye, and Nick Fury stand tall in the foreground. Despite the imperfect overall quality, we appreciate the little touches like the “A” on Captain America’s left shoulder.

Take a look for yourself and let us know if you remember seeing this poster on DeviantArt:

The poster confirms a slew of cast members who will appear throughout the film. Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie (particularly notable for his role as Falcon), Hayley Attwell (Agent Carter!), Idris Elba, and Stellan Skarsgard are just a couple of the names featured at the bottom of the poster. Even composer Danny Elfman is credited!

No matter the quality of this little preview, the Avengers are like sex. Even when their marketing material is bad, it’s pretty damn good. Our heroes return to the big screen on May 1.
