James Cameron has set new release dates for the next four Avatar movies.
The Avatar sequels have seen several delays over the past few years, but maybe — just maybe — Cameron is serious about the latest round of dates.
Avatar 2 was originally set for December 2016, then December 2017, and then it was taken off the schedule. As of today the movie is slated for December 18, 2020.
But that’s not all! Avatar 3 will allegedly be released December 17, 2021, Avatar 4 on December 20, 2024 and Avatar 5 on December 19, 2025.
Cameron made the announcement Saturday morning on Avatar’s official Facebook page. The sequel appears to now be in production:

The original Avatar was released in 2009. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is opening an Avatar land this May.
