A poster for the rumored Assassin’s Creed IV has seemingly leaked, potentially revealing the title, setting, and protagonist for the hotly anticipated assassin sequel.

The poster allegedly comes from a “tipster” on Kotaku.com. Usually, we don’t report on rumors such as this. However, video game industry giant IGN.com seemingly trusted Kotaku’s judgement, leading more to the legitimacy of this poster being the real deal.

Check out the poster for the unconfirmed Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag below.

If Kotaku is to be trusted, this poster is part of Ubisoft’s promotional material for the unconfirmed fourth Assassin’s Creed game. It will allegedly be on store walls starting Monday, March 4.

This poster, if believed, shows that the new setting for the next Assassin’s Creed game will perhaps be in the Caribbean. This is noted due to the pirates and ship in the image.

We’re not quite sure what we think about this leak being official. It is possible that this is the sequel Ubisoft spoke about coming out “next fiscal year.” However, it would be a very quick turnaround to go from announcing a title, to advertising for it on store walls.

With caution to the wind, we will await to hear Ubisoft’s reaction to this leak, although major gaming companies will often respond that they “do no react to rumors or speculation.”

What does your gut tell you? Is this the Assassin’s Creed IV that we’ve all been waiting for? It has only been since October since AC III was released. Would this be too soon of a turnaround? Perhaps we’ll hear more at E3 in June.
