Arrow stars Stephen Amell’s and Colton Haynes’ social media accounts are hinting at an emotional farewell later this season. But to whom?

Warning: There will be potential spoilers for upcoming episodes below.

The final batch of episodes in Arrow‘s third season are shaping up to be intense. As Arrow films season 3, episode 19, “Broken Arrow” (which is an ominous title), some of the stars have taken to social media with teases.

Last night, Stephen Amell tweeted something worrisome:

Goodbye? Our first thought is that it sounds like someone is dying (it wouldn’t be the first time on the show, or even this season), though a slightly better case scenario could be that someone is simply leaving, perhaps for one of the spinoffs in the same universe.

Or perhaps we’re bidding farewell to a location, like the foundry?

But before we jump to any conclusions, there’s more evidence to dissect.

Amell also took to Facebook:

It still sounds like a character we know and love could be dying.

Amell, though, wasn’t the only cast member posting ominous messages. Colton Haynes (Roy Harper) also tweeted last night:

Hm. No other cast members have posted messages about last night’s filming. In an episode titled “Broken Arrow,” it seems likely there would be something bad happening to one or both of the series’ archers, Oliver and Roy. That title could, potentially, be related to Team Arrow as well, if the team were to break in some way.

It’s worth noting that in the DC Comics, Roy and Oliver eventually have a falling out that leads the two to stop working together. With Roy coming into his own as Arsenal this season and butting heads with Oliver more and more, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see a similar rift form between the two characters.

Interestingly, Willa Holland (Thea Queen) recently posted a picture to Instagram of her getting a head mold. It looks like she’ll be getting her own mask.

you still want to date me, right?

We speculated that Thea might be suiting up eventually, and it looks like that storyline is coming to fruition. This is noteworthy, though, because we suspect Thea will take up the mantle of Speedy, as per Oliver’s nickname for her, but that is also a name that Roy, in the comics, used.

In light of Amell’s and Haynes’ tweets, we can’t help but wonder if Thea might be suiting up to honor a fallen Roy, as Laurel did for her late sister, Sara.

Another character we could potentially lose would be Quentin Lance, as his health has been at the forefront all season. His heart issues were the reason Laurel kept Sara’s death a secret for so long, and he’s regularly popping pills as a reminder of his precarious condition.

Of course, this is all conjecture. We’d love to hear your theories about the cryptic messages in the comments below.

Arrow returns with new episodes on Wednesday, March 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
