We got some intel about Arrow season 4 from the Comic-Con panel. We look at the top five things we learned.

Executive producers and stars of The CW’s Arrow took to the stage at Comic-Con and gave some intriguing teases about what we can expect come October.

Oliver’s getting a new suit

“We’ve always said the progression for Oliver is very much from the Arrow to Green Arrow,” executive producer Greg Berlanti said. “This is first real stop in that direction.”

The suit was designed by resident costume desire Maya Mani, who has “made every single suit on our show since the original Arrow costume,” Stephen Amell gushed. “She nailed it.”

The show is becoming more ‘Green Arrow-y’

With a more Green Arrow-like costume comes a more Green Arrow-like tone to the show, previewed the EPs. The tone will be lighter this season, though “the show isn’t going to suddenly to become a comedy,” Andrew Kreisberg reminded fans.

“When the season starts, [Oliver’s] in much a better place. He’s happy. He’s in love. That feeling infuses all the characters. There’s a little bit more fun [and] more humor.”

“We actually get to have Oliver make some jokes in the lair, which is a first,” added Wendy Mericle with a laugh.

New villains

Though we already know Damien Darhk will appear in season 4, “there’s another big [DC character] coming,” Geoff Johns previewed. In fact, he said, “There’s a lot of characters coming up that people won’t really guess” from the DC Universe.

One such character will be Anarky, an antagonist who traditionally squares off against Batman.

Diggle’s getting a helmet

It was hinted that last season Diggle might need to don a costume for the sake of his family, as he now has a wife and baby daughter. According to David Ramsey, Diggle will be wearing a costume that involves a helmet in season 4.

Ramsey joked that his superhero alter ego would be “Black Driver.”

Another LGBT character

Nyssa al Ghul and Sara Lance were two LGBT characters present in previous seasons of Arrow. EP Greg Berlanti teased that another LGBT character would be coming: Mr. Terrific will appear in season 4 as a friend of Felicity, and he will be gay.

There are two incarnations of Mr. Terrific in the DC comics,Terry Sloane and Michael Holt, and Berlanti did not indicate which would be appearing.
