Devon Aoki, who was originally set to play Katana in Arrow season 3, has pulled out due to a scheduling conflict.

Rila Fukushima will replace Aoki as Tatsu Yamashiro, aka Katana, reports Deadline.

Katana is described as a deadly, sword-wielding Japanese martial arts expert. She will appear in the Hong Kong flashbacks as one of Oliver’s mentors. She will be a “critical influence” on Oliver’s journey to becoming the Arrow. She is married to Maseo Yamashiro (Karl Yune). This is expected to be a major recurring role.

Fukushima is perhaps best known from her role as Yukio in 2013’s The Wolverine.

Fukushima joins a growing cast for the new season of Arrow, which includes recent additions Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer), Charlotte Ross (Felicity’s mother), David Cubitt (Manhunter), Matt Ward (Komodo), J.R. Ramirez (Wildcat), and Peter Stormare (Vertigo).

The synopsis for the third season of Arrow reads:

In the aftermath of this victory, season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen — not as long as the city needs The Arrow.
