The CW has released four photos from the Arrow season 3 premiere, titled “The Calm.”
With a little over a month until the season premiere of Arrow, The CW is starting to ramp up its season 3 promotional material. In the four photos below, we see Oliver and Felicity looking concerned, Oliver and Laurel watching Captain Lance (who has been promoted) speak, Sara in her Canary suit, and Oliver in his Arrow suit:
A new promo for season 3 recently made its way online, featuring Oliver and Felicity preparing to share a kiss as well as some killer stunts with the Arrow and a moving truck.
We have also gotten a lot of casting announcements over the summer break, including Amy Gumenick (Cupid), Rila Fukushima (Katana), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer), David Cubitt (Manhunter), Matt Ward (Komodo), J.R. Ramirez (Wildcat), Karl Yune (Maseo Yamashiro) and Peter Stormare (Vertigo). John Barrowman will also be returning to Arrow as a series regular in season 3.
Felicity is also slated to have a character-centric episode, titled “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak,” that will feature her mother (Charlotte Ross) and her ex-boyfriend from MIT (Nolan Funk).
Prior to the start of the season, we also learned that not only would season 3 further develop the Oliver/Felicity romance that was teased in the season 2 finale, but legendary DC Comics villain Ra’s al Ghul would be the villain of the season.
The official synopsis for Arrow season 3 reads:
“In the aftermath of this victory, Season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen — not as long as the city needs The Arrow.”
Arrow season 3 premieres Wednesday, October 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
