In a new casting announcement today we discovered that we’re going to be seeing Felicity Smoak’s mother on Arrow‘s season 3!

Charlotte Ross has been cast to play Felicity’s mother this coming season on Arrow, according to TVGuide. Ross’ previous credits include NYPD Blue, Nashville, Days of Our Lives and Glee. Now, the question is: Is she going to be seen in a flashback or in the modern timeline?

We’re going to be seeing Mrs. Smoak in at least one episode in early November, but the details about her identity and when she’s going to come in to Felicity’s life are still vague. At this point even Mrs. Smoak’s name is being kept back, but we’ll be sure to update you if and when we find out before the episode airs.

The casting of Felicity’s mother doesn’t come as a huge surprise, especially considering the announcement at Comic-Con that told us we’ll be seeing Felicity at M.I.T. in a season 3 flashback. The episode with the flashback will be a particularly Felicity-centric one and is titled “Oracle,” which got fans at the convention extremely excited and giddy.

Seeing as we love Felicity Smoak and all of the wonderful things she says, we’re excited to see more of her awesomeness and her times at M.I.T.. The trailer, however, has us worried for Felicity’s fate considering there was a brief moment in which we saw a bloody Felicity laying on a slab. Could it be Felicity’s time is up, hence the flashbacks to her college life? We hope not!
