As the murder mystery of Arrow‘s third season deepens, several characters are set to return to the show after the midseason break.
First, Manu Bennett is set to reprise his role as Slade Wilson, reports MTV. Slade was Oliver’s friend-turned-mortal-enemy who was the Big Bad of season 2. After defeating Slade without killing him, Oliver completed his transition from vigilante to hero and locked the villain, who Felicity cured of Mirakuru after he kidnapped her, in a high security A.R.G.U.S. prison on Lian Yu.
While he swore to Oliver that he would escape to exact vengeance, there’s no indication of what capacity Bennett will reprise his role in — present day or flashbacks.
Bennett will return in Arrow season 3, episode 14.
Also returning after the winter break is Bex Taylor-Klaus, who will reprise her role as Sin, reports TVLine.
She will appear in Arrow season 3, episode 12, “Uprising.” According to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, “She plays a pivotal part in the investigation into Sara’s death.” He adds, “I just watched the dailies the other day, and it was really great to see her back” because she was a pivotal character in season 2, between her relationships with Sara, Roy, and Thea.
Interestingly, Caity Lotz also posted a teaser on her Instagram yesterday:
We learned at the beginning of the season that Lotz was signed on for at least three episodes in this season of Arrow, and she appeared in episodes 1, “The Calm,” and episode 2, “Sara.” The producers have expressed a desire to tell more Sara Lance stories in flashbacks.
