Arrow season 2, episode 11 “Blind Spot” aired tonight, featuring Laurel and the Arrow working together to investigate Sebastian Blood.

So what happened in the episode?

The case against Blood

In the wake of Laurel’s visit, Blood goes to see his mother. Maya admits to telling Laurel the truth and apologizes profusely. Blood forgives her with a kiss on her head. After Blood leaves, though, Maya is visited by the man in the skull mask, and she screams.

Back at the D.A.’s office, Laurel gets a call from the institution: Maya’s heart gave out. Convinced Blood murdered his mother now as well, Laurel asks her boss for help. Donner, though, doesn’t think there’s a case; Laurel’s on her own.

An unlikely partnership

Lance sets up a meeting between Laurel and the Arrow, and Laurel fills him in on all the suspicious activity related to Blood — Max’s overdose, Cyrus Gold, and Maya’s murder. She wants his help in stopping Blood. Oliver trusts Laurel’s instincts, and so he agrees.

Laurel gives the Arrow the case number for Blood’s father’s murder. Conveniently, it’s the only extant copy exists in the City Archives, so the Arrow and Laurel sneak in to get the file.

Though Felicity hacks the security system, it comes back online earlier than expected. Security catches the Arrow on camera, and SCPD arrives just as Laurel finds the file. After distracting the police, the Arrow and Laurel make their getaway, but it was for naught: the file is empty.

Taking care of the problem

The next day, Oliver visits Blood to ask about Laurel. After Oliver assures Blood he’s only looking out for a friend, Blood replies that he’ll “take care of Laurel.” Yeah, that’s not ominous at all.

That night, Slade shows up at Blood’s campaign headquarters with the missing file. He’s angry that Blood has been so sloppy in his mission to get close to Laurel — another way for Slade to hurt Oliver. After Slade threatens him, Blood calls Officer Daly.

Laurel returns to her apartment, only to find it ransacked. Daly is there with a warrant. Officers found Lance’s pills and arrest Laurel. At the police station, Laurel tries to convince her father that Blood is framing her. She unravels as Lance confronts her about her drinking and the drugs, so when she pleads for her father to believe her, he can’t.

Oliver takes Laurel home and they start sifting through the wreckage of her apartment. Oliver recognizes that Laurel’s putting up a front, acting like she doesn’t need anyone’s help. Laurel asks for a glass of water, but Oliver is knocked out on his way back from the kitchen, and Laurel is kidnapped by the man in the skull mask.

No longer a blind spot

Oliver wakes up in Laurel’s apartment and finds a message for the Arrow to come to Starling Cannery. The Arrow arrives just as the skull mask man threatens Laurel with a gun. The masked man throws Laurel aside to fight the Arrow. The fight abruptly ends, though, when Laurel recovers the discarded gun and shoots her kidnapper repeatedly in the back.

The Arrow pulls off the skull mask, revealing… Officer Daly. That was unexpected.

Back at the police station, Lance tells Laurel that the police were able to connect Daly to everything Laurel suspected Blood of. Donner then tells Laurel her charges have been dropped and fires her. Not Laurel’s best day.

For his part, Oliver is frustrated that he almost believed that Blood was behind everything because he trusted Laurel. He says that she’s has always been a blind spot for him, but no longer.

Meanwhile, Blood brings Slade news about Daly taking the fall. Slade calls this a good start but not nearly enough. Decked out in his Deathstroke 2.0 gear, Slade kills four of Blood’s men. Another failure will cost Blood his life as well.

Meanwhile, the B-Team…

Roy’s struggles with his transformation continue. Oliver finds Roy to thank him for saving Moira’s life at the rally, but Roy is elusive when asked about the debris that hit him.

Roy eventually calls Sin and shows her his super strength. But he wasn’t just looking for a confidante; he wants to go out on his own looking for bad guys. Sin brings him a case of a serial killer in the Glades preying on prostitutes.

Roy convinces Sin to be bait, and she gets picked up by our guy. Just as Creepy McCreeperson pulls a knife, Roy shows up and nearly beats him to death. When Sin tries to stop him, Roy hits her, which brings him back to himself. They get McCreeperson some medical help, and Sin calls Thea. Roy, though, can’t take all the concern and flees.

After learning about Roy losing control, the Arrow offers to teach Roy to control his new abilities.

And on the island…

Ollie and Sara head back to the plane, but Slade’s not there. Sara sticks up for Ivo and suggests they consider his offer once they find Slade and the mirakuru, but Oliver is furious at the suggestion.

That night, Oliver apologizes for taking Sara on the Gambit, but Sara admits that part of the reason she agreed to go was that she used to have a huge crush on Ollie but that Laurel knew and was a bit vindictive about it.

Once Oliver’s gone to sleep, Sara steals the radio to call Ivo. He tells her that she was never in any danger and he never wanted to hurt anyone. Sara, though, realizes she’s disgusted by what Ivo has done and says she’d rather be dead than continue being a part of his work.

Ivo immediately shows his true colors and threatens to hunt her and Oliver down. Sara shuts the radio off, only to find Oliver standing behind her. She hands the radio to him, ready to find Slade.
