It was a big day for Arrow fans at San Diego Comic-Con today and we’ve got the comprehensive list of announcements and awesome things you can expect for season 5.

Arrow took over Ballroom 20 at the San Diego Convention Center this weekend, kicking things off by premiering a first look for season 5 in a video that featured footage from the first few episodes:

  1. The season’s villain is named Prometheus, and no it’s not the Prometheus from the comics. This villain is an original character, and he will fit in with the season’s theme of legacy – something that Oliver is going to be struggling with a lot this year.
  2. Katie Casidy isn’t gone! Quite the contrary, actually. Casidy has been promoted to a series regular on The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. She’s actually the third cast member to do so, following in the footsteps of John Barrowman and Wentworth Miller who were both recently promoted as well.
  3. Casidy will be making her return in the season 5 premiere, so watch out for that craziness. No explanation was given as to how she’ll return, so we’ll have to wait it out and see!
  4. Oliver isn’t going to be a great mayor. Instead of focusing on his mayoral duties, he’ll be training these new recruits who want to help him save Star City as vigilantes.
  5. Oliver may be mayor in title, but it’ll be Thea who takes on mayoral duties behind the scenes. Stephen Amell revealed that while Oliver shrinks in his duties, Thea will be the one who makes sure things get done. “She’s going to be picking up all the pieces he leaves behind,” says Thea actress Willa Holland.
  6. We’ll be seeing Curtis’ origin story as Mr. Fantastic, and his personal life will come into focus. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim says, “We’ve got some pretty big plans for Curtis, especially with respect to his marriage. He wants to become a vigilante. He wants to start fighting crime. He’s got his husband at home, who is probably going to start to notice he’s coming home with bruises and cuts. That’s going to raise some questions.”
  7. The flashbacks may or may not be ending with season 5. Oliver was gone for five years and we’re coming to the end of that journey, but Amell says that nothing has been confirmed as to whether or not more flashbacks will appear if the show goes on to merit a sixth season.
