Arrow will not air a new episode on Wednesday, April 8.

The next episode of Arrow will air on Wednesday, April 15 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW. The episode will be titled “Broken Arrow” and will feature Arrow‘s first metahuman, Jake Simmons a.k.a Deathbolt, who will eventually cross over to The Flash, appearing in episode 22.

Instead of a new episode, The CW will air a rerun of Arrow season 3, episode 15, “Nanda Parbat,” on April 8.

In the previous episode of Arrow, “Public Enemy,” Ray saved Felicity from Maseo’s arrow by taking it to the chest. Though his injuries were treated, he was left with a blood clot; he was unfortunately too weak to undergo a procedure to remove it.

Felicity went against hospital policy to inject Ray with nanotech that he invented, and they dissolved the clot, thus saving Ray’s life. However, when Ray told Felicity he loved her, Felicity could not return the sentiment.

Meanwhile, Ra’s continued the League’s assault on Starling City to push Oliver to become Heir to the Demon. SCPD began a citywide manhunt for the Arrow, and Ra’s informed Captain Lance that Oliver is the Arrow.

Out of options, Oliver turned himself in to Lance in exchange for immunity for the rest of Team Arrow. However, Roy couldn’t take this lying down and broke up Oliver’s transfer, claiming to be the true Arrow.

According to the synopsis of “Broken Arrow,” “Lance (Paul Blackthorne) continues his mission to take down the Arrow (Stephen Amell) so Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) orders Oliver to keep a low profile. However, when a meta-human named Jake Simmons (guest star Doug Jones), who kills people with blasts of energy and plasma, starts terrorizing Starling City, Oliver is forced to ask Ray (Brandon Routh) for help. The unlikely duo is forced to team up to save the city.”

This is bound to be an intriguing team up, as Ray and Oliver have polar opposite personalities and have clashed in both personal and professional arenas previously this season.
