Arrow has cast Nick Tarabay in a recurring, villainous role for season 3.

Tarabay has been tapped to play Digger Harkness, aka Captain Boomerang. Interestingly, Captain Boomerang is a member of the Flash’s rogues gallery in the comics.

Perhaps this is why Tarabay is set to appear in Arrow season 3, episodes 7 and 8 — the latter of which will be part of a two-hour crossover event with The Flash.

In the DC Comics, besides being an enemy of the Flash, Captain Boomerang also has ties to the Suicide Squad. His weapon of choice is — you guessed it — a specialized boomerang.

In the Arrow-verse, he will be an ex-A.R.G.U.S. operative. The martial arts and espionage expert will have a thirst for vengeance against his former employers.

Tarabay joins fellow Spartacus alums Manu Bennett (Slade Wilson) and Katrina Law (Nyssa al Ghul) on Arrow. His other credits include roles on the television series Believe, Burn Notice, and Crash.

This casting news comes not long after Matt Nable was cast as legendary DC Comics villain Ra’s al Ghul.

Other recent Arrow casting additions also include Austin Butler (Chase), Amy Gumenick (Cupid), Rila Fukushima (Katana), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer), David Cubitt (Manhunter), Matt Ward (Komodo), J.R. Ramirez (Wildcat), Karl Yune (Maseo Yamashiro) and Peter Stormare (Vertigo). John Barrowman will also be returning to Arrow as a series regular in season 3.

Felicity is also slated to have a character-centric episode, titled “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak,” that will feature her mother (Charlotte Ross) and her ex-boyfriend from MIT (Nolan Funk).

Arrow season 3 premieres Wednesday, October 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
