Ahead of the show’s return this week, the Arrow mid-season 4 sizzle reel teases Team Arrow’s fight against Damien Darhk and H.I.V.E.
The new trailer features quite a bit of new footage from the second half of season 4, giving fans some major twists to look forward to.

Some of the most notable moments of the trailer include:
- Thea in a hospital bed, and Oliver holding vigil over her. Again.
- The return of Katana, who we last saw at the end of season 3. She appears to be fighting Nyssa al Ghul for some reason. It’s interesting that Arrow is allowed to continue to use this character since, like Deadshot, she is also being used in Suicide Squad; Deadshot was killed off to avoid confusion between television and film properties.
- Damien Darhk’s wife joining the mayoral race. It looks as though she is aware of her husband’s activities and is even complicit in them.
- The return of Roy Harper (which we reported previously). He’s even back in his Arsenal suit, which he’d left for Thea.
- Diggle reminding Oliver not to lose what Felicity fell in love with in his quest for vengeance. It looks as though Oliver will be reverting to early seasons Oliver; hopefully that regression won’t last, as his character development has been a high point of this season.
- Lyla having a gun pointed at her. Andy sees this happening over a camera and warns Diggle, using his brother’s first name. This seems to indicate their relationship may improve in the second half of the season.
- A brief shot of Shado. Or is that her twin sister?
- A shot of Felicity in her goth gear that we first saw in “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak.” Besides a shot of her being operated on after the shooting, this is the only glimpse of her we get in the trailer; her fate is being kept under wraps for as long as possible.
- Malcolm telling Oliver, “You’re very handsome. Not especially bright.” Oliver’s long-suffering sigh in response is hilarious.
Arrow returns Wednesday, January 20 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
