Arrow season 5 is bringing in Talia al Ghul, daughter of Ra’s and half-sister of Nyssa.

Andromeda alum Lexa Doig will play Talia, reports Variety. The character’s description reads, “Talia, like Nyssa, is an elite warrior, excelling in multiple different forms of combat. Unlike her sister though, she refuses to pick sides and instead creates her own.”

Doig will make her debut as Talia in Arrow season 5, episode 10. The role will be recurring.

Nyssa al Ghul, Heir to the Demon, was first introduced in Arrow season 2; she was the one who rescued Sara after Sara was lost from the Amazo, and the two became lovers.

Fans weren’t sure whether Nyssa being named Ra’s al Ghul’s heir meant that Talia existed or not in the Arrow-verse.

Talia’s existence was confirmed, though, when we met a young version of her in an episode of Legends of Tomorrow in which Sara was stranded in the 1960s for several years so rejoined the League of Assassins. Ra’s held her up as example for Talia to aspire to.

Talia is older than Nyssa, as Nyssa had not been born yet, so I’ll be curious to see if we get an explanation as to why Nyssa was Ra’s’ heir instead. It’s worth keeping in mind, however, that when Nyssa regained control of the League after her father’s death, she disbanded it.

In the DC Comics, Talia was her father’s second in command and was romantically connected to Batman. The two even had a child, Damian.

Doig’s other credits include Continuum, Arctic Air, V and Stargate SG-1.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
