The CW has just announced that it has decided to order a full season of Arrow.

After only two episodes, Arrow has quickly shown that it’s a great success for The CW, and it has been ordered for a full season. The series premiere brought in 4.14 million viewers. The premiere was the most-watched series premiere for The CW since the premiere of The Vampire Diaries in 2009. Arrow also held its rating in the adults 18-35 and adults 18-49 ranges, making it the only drama to do so this season.

The CW decided to wait until October to premiere its shows this year, and it has paid off, says CW president Mark Pedowitz:

Our strategy of rolling out our new fall schedule later in the year really paid off for The CW on several levels, especially with Arrow.

Arrow is the only new CW series to receive a full-season order to date. Beauty and the Beast and Emily Owens, M.D. have yet to prove to The CW that they warrant a full-season pickup.

Thanks, Deadline.
