Several years after his character went on the run, Colton Haynes is returning to Arrow as a series regular in season 7.
Haynes played Roy Harper in Arrow season 1 in a recurring role. He was a series regular in seasons 2 and 3 before taking a step back from the show. He appeared in one episode in season 4 and in two episodes in season 6.
At the end of his most recent appearance, he left Star City with Thea and Nyssa to search for three remaining Lazarus Pits to destroy them. While this was a planned departure for Willa Holland (Thea), Haynes will be returning to Arrow in a full-time capacity next season, Variety reports.
“I could not be happier to return to my role as Roy Harper alongside my Arrow family,” Haynes said.
“While we’ve always enjoyed Colton’s returns to the show, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him return as a proper series regular, and we’re very excited about all the creative opportunities Roy Harper’s return affords us,” The Arrow executive producers said in a statement.
Arrow airs Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
