Team Arrow will have another new member in Arrow season 5, as Rick Gonzalez has been tapped as a new vigilante.

Gonzalez will play Jason Seaborn, aka Wild Dog, reports EW. In Arrow season 5, “Wild Dog is a new vigilante in Star City whose reckless and cocksure nature prompts Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) to take him under his wing.”

In the DC Comics, Wild Dog’s real name is Jack Wheeler, indicating Jason Seaborn is a new take on the character. He initially attended college on a football scholarship, but after an injury ended his career, he dropped out of school and joined the Marines. After the majority of his squad was killed in action, Jack returned home to Quad Cities, Iowa, where he worked as a mechanic and took night classes.

When his girlfriend, secretly the daughter of a crime boss, was killed by an assassin, Jack began fighting crime in a hockey mask and a State University shirt. Because of the image of a laughing dog on his shirt, he became known as Wild Dog. He became a local hero as he fought and killed domestic terrorists, urban criminals and mafia by night, though he was wanted by the police.

Wild Dog, as a former soldier, is highly-skilled in hand-to-hand combat as well as with weapons. However, despite those skills, he often sprays his enemies with bullets until they’re dead.

Gonzalez’s credits include Mr. Robot, Rush and Reaper, along with numerous guest starring roles on series like NCIS, Blue Bloods and Bones.

Arrow season 5 will air on Wednesday nights this fall on The CW.
