Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder has released the first image of actor Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and he’s looking massive.

The Game of Thrones’ star looks incredible as Aquaman, as he sports his battle armor for his solo film set to hit theaters July 27, 2018. We’ll see him before that in Batman v Superman and Justice League, but check out the hulking star as Aquaman below via Twitter (click the image to view Aquaman’s detailed armor in HD):

The poster includes the quote, “Unite the seven,” which is a nod to either the seven seas, or the seven members of the Justice League. Fans were concerned about Momoa being cast as the normally blonde haired, blue eyed king of the oceans, but we’re digging this look. They’ve included some tattoos that give off an original take on the character’s golden, scale-armor.

The actor recently took to radio to talk about his character a bit, and his involvement in all the projects that WB have in store for fans. He said we’d be seeing something different than what the comic had shown us, and he wasn’t lying. This looks like one badass, trident-wielding Aquaman, who seems capable of destroying any superhero that feels the need to battle.

Aquaman’s storyline will reportedly come from the fact that the World Engine caused damage to the Indian Ocean during Man of Steel’s final battle sequence, which saw Superman and Zod destroy quite a bit of Earth’s terrain.

While Momoa will make an appearance in Dawn of Justice, he is set to have a much larger role in Justice League when it hits theaters May, 2017. We look forward to finding out if the Aquaman storyline rumors are true, as he’s thought to be one of the most difficult superheroes to introduce into the DC universe.
