Foundation, Isaac Asimov’s epic sci-fi series, will be adapted for the small screen by Apple TV and star Lee Pace and Jared Harris.

Apple TV is racking up quite an impressive list of original TV shows with many of Hollywood’s biggest and most talented stars.

Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Steve Carell will be making their debut on the streamer with the surefire hit The Morning Show, while Jason Momoa will lead his people to a new age in the post-apocalyptic drama See.

There’s also Hailee Steinfeld’s Dickinson, a 19th century coming-of-age comedy series about the famous poet, as well as For All Mankind, the alternate timeline series written and created by Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore.

Now it looks like Apple TV will be adding another genre — and another pair of big stars — to their roster of shows.

The streaming service announced today that its adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi classic Foundation had found its stars in Lee Pace and Jared Harris.

Foundation will be a 10-episode series from David Goyer, best known from his work on Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy and Batman v Superman. He will be the sole showrunner for the series after the departure of Josh Friedman earlier this year.

Based on Isaac Asimov’s novel series of the same name, Foundation chronicles the epic saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it.

Jared Harris, who was nominated for his role in HBO’s limited series Chernobyl and previously nominated for his role on AMC’s Mad Men , will star as Hari Seldon, a mathematical genius who predicts the demise of the empire. Lee Pace, who was on Halt and Catch Fire for four seasons and recently starred in the hit Hong Kong drama series Flying Tiger, is set to play Brother Day, the current Emperor of the Galaxy.

Apple’s scripted originals will debut Nov. 1 when its TV+ service launches, though it’s yet unknown when Foundation will premiere.
