This morning at their Worldwide Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, Apple unveiled iOS 7 featuring a completely new look for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Though numerous announcements were made this morning (scroll down), the highlight of the event was the first major overhaul for iOS since it’s inception in 2007.

iOS 7

“It is the biggest change to iOS since introduction of iPhone,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook during his remarks today.

In addition to the entirely new look, new features include…
– Multitasking in iOS 7: Easily switch between apps, and your phone will refresh your apps that you use most with the most recent information.
– Search in Safari now includes your most visited websites and unlimited tabs.
– Control Center: From anywhere while on your phone, turn on and off the flashlight, play music, turn on/off Bluetooth and WiFi.

– AirDrop: Easily share photos with friends in real time.
– Camera: 4 cameras in one. Video, Photo, Square (like Instagram), and Pano. Includes built in filters.
– Photos app: The app now organizes your photos by “moments” based on location, day and time.

– Siri includes tighter Wikipedia integration and new, friendlier male/female voices.
– iOS in the Car: iOS now appears on the screen in your car, powered by speaking to Siri. Car manufacturers Honda, Nissan, Volvo, Chevy, and many more beginning in 2014 will allow this integration.

– App Store: You can now browse apps based on the age range you are shopping for (between ages 6 to 8, for example). Or, you can search by popular apps in your physical location.
– The App Store now updates your apps automatically.
– FaceTime, Messages, and Call blocking: Now you can block a person from reaching you entirely.
– Activation lock: If someone steals your device, they will no longer be able to wipe and reactivate it because the device is connected to your iCloud account.

iOS 7 will work with iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, iPad mini, and iPod touch 5th generation and later.

iOS 7 will be released in the Fall

iTunes Radio

A Pandora clone of sorts, iTunes Radio lets you listen to music via playlists. Like Pandora, you can type in a genre or artist and create a station. Works on all iOS devices, OS X, and Apple TV. It’s free (with ads). If you’re an iTunes Match subscriber, it’s ad free.

OS X Mavericks

Beginning with this iteration of OS X, operation systems will be named after California locations. The first one is the beach town of Mavericks, California. OS X Mavericks includes “great new apps and enhancements for every Mac user.”

Those include…
Tabs in Finder, allowing you to keep multiple finder locations open in one window.
– Much improved multiple display support. Now you can access your dock from either display, keep one app open in full screen mode while the other display retains the windows it had open.
Tags, allowing you to add keywords to a file and easily see all the files under that tag.
Safari offers a brand new home page including a “Shared Links” section where you see links shared in your Twitter and LinkedIn feeds.
App Nap: When you can’t visually see an app, your computer will no longer waste battery life on powering it (but it still remains open). This will help improve your laptop’s battery life.
iCloud Keychain: Your website passwords will remain with you across computers.
Safari suggested passwords: Safari will suggest a very secure password for you and then remember it.
Improved notifications: You can now reply to texts and e-mails right within a notification pop up window.
Apple Maps comes to the desktop: You can now use the Maps application, previously only available on iOS, on your computer. Using the Mac app, you can send directions right to your phone.
iBooks comes to the desktop too: You can now purchase and read books on your desktop. Your position in the book syncs across devices.
