A new app is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Apollo 11 and the moon landing by allowing you to relive it all right at home.

Many of us were not alive when the Apollo 11 was launched and Neil Armstrong took his first steps on the moon. As the 50th anniversary of the auspicious moment in history has finally arrived, AR apps are letting people relive the amazing moments right in their living rooms.

As Variety explains, several apps like 321 Launch and The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library’s Moonshot AR app will live stream an AR version of the Apollo 11 launch. The live stream will take place at the same time as the actual launch, July 16 at 9:32 am EST.

You can check out the trailers for the 321 Launch app and the JFK AR app, both available on iOS and Android.

Both apps are free and will provide you with AR live stream of the launch and the entire mission including the separation of the from the rocket (July 20 at 4:00 pm EST), and the moon landing (July 20 10:34 pm EST). Additionally, the JFK app will also provide users with additional info about the mission, photographs, videos, and more that speak to the mission and the role President Kennedy played in getting us to the moon.

However, if you’re not able to check out the apps, you can watch the Apollo 11 launch and the moon landing just like they did back in 1969. CBS News will be reairing the original broadcast featuring Walter Cronkite on its website.

It is really exciting to see how AR technology can help us all either relive an iconic moment in history or let individuals too young to remember the moon landing experience it for the first time. We love to see how app developers are using technology to bring history to life, and we can’t wait to experience the Apollo 11 mission for ourselves from the comfort of our own homes.
