Anthony Mackie is heading to Netflix for his next feature film.
According to Variety, actor Anthony Mackie is gearing up to star in and produce a brand new action adventure film coming down the pipeline at Netflix.
Titled The Ogun, the forthcoming Netflix Original will find the Avengers: Endgame alum taking on the role of Xavier Rhodes— a man who takes his teenage daughter to Nigeria in the hopes of finding a cure for a rare genetic disease that she has that he passed down to her.
Things take a turn for the worse when his daughter ends up being kidnapped. From there, Xavier springs into action, delving into Nigeria’s criminal underworld in an effort to find his daughter before it’s too late.
Mackie will be producing alongside Jason Michael Berman of Mandalay Pictures. Behind the camera, the film features a screenplay that was written by Madison Turner, whose recent credits include penning The Liberator for Warner Bros.
Currently there’s no word with regards to when we might expect to see Anthony Mackie’s The Ogun debut, but the upcoming Netflix Original is one of a few projects the actor currently has in the works.
Most notably, the actor is currently filming the highly anticipated Marvel limited series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The upcoming Disney+ limited series is set to find Mackie starring opposite fellow Avengers co-star, Sebastian Stan.
