Ant-Man’s new trailer continues to do its best to bring up the fact that he’s in the same universe as the Avengers, but this time Iron Man’s awesome suit gets a bit insulted by Michael Douglas’ character.

Marvel has been desperately attempting to link Ant-Man to the Avengers, as the character is essentially unknown to the average moviegoer, which is why they released a few new Avengers inspired posters which featured Ant-Man standing on Thor’s hammer, Iron Man’s shoulder, and Cap’s shield.

It’s smart marketing, as Marvel knows that to make a solo Ant-Man movie a financial success, they have to get fans of the other Marvel films to know that Ant-Man is just another cog in the Avengers’ wheel.

In the new Ant-Man trailer, we hear Hank Pym say, “This is not some cute technology like the Iron Man suit.” While they’re hating on Iron Man a bit, the key is reminding fans that Ant-Man is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and they’re begging Marvel fans to come see their unique superhero film.

We don’t know if it will work because Ant-Man is such a different type of superhero and Paul Rudd isn’t nearly as marketable as actors like Chris Evans or Robert Downey Jr. (he’s awesome in his own ways, like being a lip sync champion on The Tonight Show), but it’s possible that the budget for Ant-Man was lower, meaning they don’t need to hit a billion for this film to be a success like the other Marvel films.

Ant-Man will be an interesting addition to the Avengers, and Rudd brings an entirely new dynamic to the team. It’ll be fascinating to see when he joins the Avengers in later films, and what size role he’ll have in Captain America: Civil War.

Ant-Man will hit theaters July 17, 2015.
