Marvel’s first Ant-Man teaser trailer has been released during the premiere of their new show Agent Carter, and it features Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Corey Stoll in their pint-sized superhero movie.

Marvel teased Ant-Man fans by releasing a pint-sized trailer teaser to go along with their pint-sized superhero last week, while revealing that the film’s official trailer would be released tonight during Agent Carter’s premiere. They later released a short trailer teaser, but now we have the official trailer showing the first footage from Ant-Man.

In Ant-Man’s first trailer, we see the film’s lead character Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, who is an ex-con and thief who ends up finding a mentor in Dr. Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, a genius inventor of technology that we see allows him to shrink down to the size of an ant and gives him super strength.

Pym ends up handing the technology down to Scott Lang (Rudd) and that’s when he becomes the pint-sized superhero. Rudd and Douglas are seen working together on a heist that “if successful, will save the world.” Douglas’ character tells Scott Lang that he needs Rudd to be “the Ant-Man.”

Ant-Man’s first trailer also gives us a great look at Evangeline Lilly, who plays Hope Van Dyne, and she looks like she’ll be kicking some major ass in Marvel’s new film. There are reports that she’ll end up being the superhero Wasp, who has similar abilities as Ant-Man, but she can also fire bioelectric energy blasts.

In terms of a connection with Marvel’s other current films, including Avengers: Age of Ultron, she is a founding member of the Avengers, and leads the superhero team at certain points in the original comic book storylines.

Actor Corey Stoll is in the new trailer as the villain Yellowjacket. We saw some concept art recently featuring his character in his supervillain suit, but it’s great to finally see a lot of the film’s characters in Ant-Man’s first teaser trailer.

Marvel also announced last week that the second Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer will premiere on January 12, at 8:30 p.m. EST during the College Football Championship. Be on the look out for Marvel’s next official teaser trailer featuring the highly anticipated Avengers’ sequel.

We’re definitely liking what we saw in Ant-Man’s first trailer, but more importantly we’re happy to see that Marvel is having some fun with this film’s promotion, which can be seen in its first poster released earlier today.

Ant-Man is seen as a major wild card for the studio, and we imagine they’ll be looking for other unique ways to promote the film as it closes in on its July 17 release date.
