Steven Price composed one of the best scores of the year in Gravity, and he’ll be taking that success with him to Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man.

The BAFTA Awards are currently being presented at the time of this article, and the Original Music Winner is none other than Steven Price for his work on Gravity.

With Price’s win, one of his next projects was revealed. Edgar Wright took to Twitter to announce that Price would be composing the score for his upcoming Marvel film Ant-Man.

This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. In addition to Gravity, perhaps Price’s best known work, he has worked with Wright before. Price scored Wright’s last film, The World’s End. He also worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World as the “composer of additional music.”

Having the duo re-team for Ant-Man can only be a good thing. It’s fairly common that directors stick with a composer they like working with because they know the composer will be able to create the sound the require. Wright obviously has figured out that Price is his guy.

News for Ant-Man has been in full swing as of late. It was announced back in December that Paul Rudd would play the titular Ant-Man, but we didn’t know what that meant until the end of January. When it was announced that Michael Douglas was cast as Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, it became clear that Rudd would be playing Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man. In the comics, Lang stole the suit from Pym.

While it’s unclear as to who exactly she would be playing, it was revealed earlier this month that The Hobbit‘s Evangeline Lilly was in talks to play the female lead in the film. We still don’t have word on the progress of those early talks.

After Batman vs. Superman (or Superman vs. Batman, or whatever they end up calling it) got bumped back to 2016, Ant-Man jumped into its July 17, 2015 release date. That few week bump from its original July 31 release date means one thing: it’s even more likely that we’ll get to see an The Avengers: The Age of Ultron and Ant-Man double feature.

What do you think of ‘Gravity’ composer Steven Price scoring Edgar Wright’s ‘Ant-Man’?
