We’ve known for the past year or so that Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man would have a hazy production schedule due in part to the filming of the third installment of his Blood and Ice Cream trilogy, but today an official release date for Marvel’s Ant-Man has hit the roster.

Ant-Man is set for release on November 6, 2015 according to a press-release from Disney, which places it after Avengers 2 in the grand scheme of things.

No word yet on the status of casting, plot, or really anything about Ant-Man but with a release date more than three years into the future, it’s a little forgiveable to not have anything on the slate other than the awesome test footage screened at Comic-Con.

Worry not though, just because the film isn’t for another three years doesn’t mean we won’t get a glimpse of the littlest Avenger in one of the standalone Marvel movies, or even in the looming Avengers sequel. If we know Marvel, we’ll get more than just a fair share of hints pointing us in Ant-Man’s direction before 2015.

In addition, Disney has confirmed that Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World will be distributed in 3D as well as the traditional 2D formats.

As usual with Marvel films, it doesn’t seem that the 3D will be essential to the plots of either film, although it will give Disney a way to add another hundred feet to the deep-end of their comically large swimming pool full of money.

If anything, this announcement solidifies Marvel’s Phase 2 roster into stone, ensuring that no surprises will pop up between now and Avengers 2. The new roster will go as follows:

Iron Man 3: May 3, 2013
Thor: The Dark World: November 8, 2013
Captain America: The Winter Soldier: April 4, 2014
Guardians of the Galaxy: August 1, 2014
Avengers 2: May 1, 2015
Ant-Man: November 6, 2015

Will we see an Ant-Man cameo in ‘Avengers 2’?
