New Ant-Man images reveal the best look at the superhero’s outfit, and some behind-the-scenes looks with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly.

Ant-Man’s first trailer was released yesterday, and we saw the film’s lead character Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, who is an ex-con and thief who ends up finding a mentor in Dr. Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, a genius inventor of technology that we see allows him to shrink down to the size of an ant and gives him super strength.

Pym ends up handing the technology down to Scott Lang (Rudd) and that’s when he becomes the pint-sized superhero. Rudd and Douglas are seen working together on a heist that “if successful, will save the world.” Douglas’ character tells Scott Lang that he needs Rudd to be “the Ant-Man.”

Today we see Ant-Man’s suit in HD, which gives us a better look at what Rudd will look like with the suit on. Check out the new images via EW below:

In EW’s new issue, the film’s director says, “When we first meet Lang, he is in prison for stealing from the CEO of a company that was itself stealing from its employees. There’s a prison fight and you’ve got to buy Paul in that role.” Reed says, “Lang longs to go straight — he has a young daughter he wants to build a relationship with — but when he leaves the big house, he ends up nabbing Pym’s Ant-Man suit. Was he set up? There might be stuff going on that Scott doesn’t know about that’s a lot bigger than him.”

Ant-Man’s first trailer also gave us a great look at Evangeline Lilly, who plays Hope Van Dyne, and she looks like she’ll be kicking some major ass in Marvel’s new film. There are reports that she’ll end up being the superhero Wasp, who has similar abilities as Ant-Man, but she can also fire bioelectric energy blasts.

We’re definitely liking what we saw in Ant-Man’s first trailer and today’s new images, but more importantly we’re happy to see that Marvel is having some fun with this film’s promotion, which can be seen in its first poster released this week.

Ant-Man is set to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
