Ant-Man has been a much condemned project after the dramatic exit of Edgar Wright, but Marvel is looking to sway fans back to their side.

Marvel knows that fans currently view Ant-Man with dread rather than anticipation, and over the next year they’ll be working hard to reverse that. This process has already begun.

Last night Marvel debuted their Ant-Man Comic Con poster. Here it is from EW:

We have to admit it; this poster looks very cool. If there’s anything that could begin to make us excited for the movie again it will be if Marvel continues to release content like this.

Featured in the poster are Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. As per the official synopsis, Ant-Man will tell the story of how con man Scott Lang must be a hero and help Hank Pym protect the secret of his Ant-Man suit by pulling off a world saving heist.

It’s no guarantee that the final Ant-Man suit will look exactly like it does in the poster. The art in the poster is described as “pre-production concept art,” but it is possible that the concept art could wind up being close to the suit that will end up being used in Ant-Man.

One notable and exciting thing about the art is that Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang is riding an ant. This is important as it looks like the script, rewritten by Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers), will keep the part of the Ant-Man character where he talks to and rides ants. We had assumed that Marvel might cut that part out, but it looks like they haven’t. Turning Ant-Man into more of an “incredible shrinking man” type character, but it looks like Marvel will be fairly faithful.

What do you think of this ‘Ant-Man’ poster?
