Ant-Man 3 has found its screenwriter in Jeff Loveness.

According to Deadline, Disney and Marvel have officially tapped Jeff Loveness to pen the script for the upcoming third installment of the Ant-Man franchise.

Loveness is best known for his work on the small screen, having written for comedy series such as Rick and Morty and Miracle Workers.

Also working on the threequel behind the camera is director Peyton Reed, who will once again return to serve as helmer on the next installment of the franchise.

That Reed will once again be steering the ship on the MCU’s third Ant-Man movie is bound to be cause for excitement for fans who’ve enjoyed the work he’s done on the previous two installments in the franchise.

As we reported back in November, actors Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly have yet to officially sign on for the third movie. That being said, both are expected to return to reprise their roles as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne/The Wasp, respectively.

One thing that still remains shrouded in a bit of mystery is the matter of what exactly Ant-Man 3 will focus on. With Loveness officially on board to pen the script, however, we’re hoping that Disney and Marvel will tease us with a few details with regards to the plot of the threequel sooner rather than later.

Currently, there’s still no word with regards to when we can expect Ant-Man to return to the big screen. As of right now, Marvel has yet to incorporate a release date for the movie into its planned release slate.

Originally, it was rumored that production on Ant-Man 3 was officially slated to break ground toward the end of 2020 or in early 2021.

Assuming filming still gets going around that time, it’s possible we might see Scott Lang return to the silver screen sometime in 2022.
