Twilight author Stephenie Meyer is continuing her foray into producing movies. Having just released a clip from Austenland yesterday, today it was revealed Meyer is adapting the book Anna Dressed in Blood.

The young adult ghost tale from Kendare Blake follows Cos, who kills the dead for a living. But in the instance of Anna, who kills anyone who enters her home, he finds a ghost “in curses and rage, a ghost like he’s never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.” (Description provided by Amazon.)

Meyer will produce along with Fickle Fish, and they have begun working on the film. While the deal has not been officially announced, the news was initially uncovered by the Los Angeles Times. Our own resident book expert Jen says she “loves, LOVES” this story.

In addition to Austenland and Anna Dressed in Blood, Meyer serves as producer on the book to film adaptation of The Host opening this March.

Anna Dressed in Blood has a 4.5 star average on Amazon, suggesting a very warm reception from its readers. It is the first in a three part series.
