The animated Super Mario Bros movie has found its stars in Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Jack Black, and more– read up on who they’ll voice below!

Illumination and Nintendo have recruited a star-studded cast for its upcoming animated Super Mario Bros movie.

Leading the charge is Guardians of the Galaxy vet Chris Pratt who will voice the titular plumber. Set to voice Mario’s brother Luigi is none other than Always Sunny star Charlie Day.

Pratt and Day are far from the only heavy hitters who were announced to have signed on for the animated feature on Thursday (September 23) via Nintendo’s official Twitter account.

The forthcoming animated Super Mario Bros movie will also feature the likes of Jack Black, Seth Rogen, Keegan-Michael Key, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

For his part, Black will be voicing the movie’s big bad, Bowser, while Rogen will voice the iconic Donkey Kong. Meanwhile, Key and Taylor-Joy will give voice to Toad and Princess Peach, respectively.

Also on board are Fred Armisen, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Sebastian Maniscalco. The aforementioned actors will take on the roles of Cranky Kong (Armisen), Kamek (Richardson), and Spike (Maniscalco).

Behind the camera, Teen Titans Go! vets Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic will serve as co-directors on the animated Super Mario Bros. movie. Joining them is Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part), who will pen the script for the animated feature.

The animated Super Mario Bros movie is set to hit the big screen next holiday season on December 21, 2022.
