After Kristen Wiig’s emotional goodbye on the season finale of SNL earlier this month, it was speculated that it would be Andy Samberg’s last show as well. Now, the actor has confirmed that he will not be returning to the late night comedy show.

Talking to The New York Times, Andy Samberg confirmed that he would not be returning to SNL next season:

“It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life. Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.”

Samberg was responsibly for multiple Emmy Award-winning digital shorts on Saturday Night Live, including “D*** In a Box” with Justin Timberlake and his portrayal of Shy Ronnie.
