Agatha Christie’s popular And Then There Were None is getting an 11th big screen adaptation with the writers of Kristen Stewart’s Seberg.

Mystery fans, get ready to see one of the great classics adapted for the big screen (again)!

Deadline reports that Agatha Christie’s acclaimed mystery novel will be adapted to the big screen by husband-and-wife writing partners Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel.

Considered one of the finest mystery novels ever written, And Then There Were None is the story of 10 seemingly random strangers who are invited to an isolated island by a mysterious host. The strangers include a reckless playboy, a troubled Harley Street doctor, a formidable judge, an uncouth detective, an unscrupulous mercenary, a God-fearing spinster, two restless servants, a highly decorated general and an anxious secretary.

Once all the guests have arrived and have dinner, their mysterious host forces each guest to listen to a recording that accuses each one of them of murder. Though they wish to leave the island after this, they are unable, and so all the guests begin to share their darkest secrets. Then, they all begin to be murdered, one by one.

First published in 1939, And Then There Were None holds the title of the world’s best-selling mystery novel and has been published in over 50 languages. And with over 100 million copies sold worldwide, it is also one of the best-selling books of all time.

Though the film will retain its pre-World War II setting in which Christie wrote the novel, this new adaptation will reportedly have a fresh take. A good and necessary thing for the film, as And Then There Were None holds the record for Christie’s most adapted novel, with 10 film adaptations and eight series adaptations including a 1945 film and BBC’s 2015 miniseries starring Charles Dance and Douglas Booth.

Husband-and-wife writing partners Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel are known for their work on Seberg, the Kristen Stewart-led film about actress Jean Seberg, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival last fall for Amazon.

The two were recently tapped to write The Great Machine, the adaptation of the Brian K. Vaughn sci-fi comic book Ex Machina and just finished work on Dame Daphne Du Maurier’s classic Gothic novel Rebecca for Netflix, which stars Lily James, Armie Hammer and Kristin Scott Thomas.

And though Kenneth Branagh brought Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot mystery Murder on the Orient Express and will be following it up with Death on the Nile, And Then There Were None will reportedly be a freestanding project and not a third installment of those mystery films.
