HBO Max will stream Expecting Amy, a series about comedian Amy Schumer’s difficult journey through pregnancy.

Back in August, Amy Schumer shared the below photo of herself and her son on instagram, with the caption, “Would anyone be interested in seeing a docu series of my pregnancy and birth?” Well, it looks like the response was positive, because EW is now reporting that the series is officially happening!

Amy Schumer and her husband, Chris Fischer, welcomed their first baby, Gene Atell Fischer, in May 2019, following the comedian’s publicly difficult pregnancy. On top of discussing her complications in her Netflix comedy special, Growing, which she filmed while she was pregnant with Gene, she shared many social media posts about her experience, including one where she regrettably cancelled the end of her comedy tour.

However, if it’s any consolation, fans who’d hoped to see her perform can now see even more of Amy Schumer on HBO Max, in her new docuseries. Expecting Amy will follow Amy Schumer “from the day she found out she was pregnant to the birth of her child.” It will take fans through her Growing tour, personal moments, and even hospitalizations.

About the series, Amy Schumer said, “women are warriors, every one of us. And I hope sharing my story brings more awareness to the challenges of pregnancy and childbirth,” in a statement for EW. We can’t wait to watch her candid journey, and see how she worked through her challenges.

HBO Max, which will include HBO and Warner Brothers content, is scheduled to launch in the spring of 2020.
