The last major precursor film awards were announced today in advance of next month’s Critics Choice Awards, as Amour won Best Picture from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.

Michael Haneke’s Amour and Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master won big with the critics organization, as Amour picked up two awards, co-winning Best Actress was Emmanuelle Riva and the film also picked up Best Picture. The Master, meanwhile, was the big winner, earning Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix, Best Supporting Actress for Amy Adams, as well as a Best Production Design win.

Elsewhere, Jennifer Lawrence was co-winner for Best Actress for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook. Indie darling Beasts of the Southern Wild was popular early, earning a Best Supporting Actor win for Dwight Henry, as well as Best Music/Score. Ben Affleck’s Argo earned a lone award for Best Screenplay by Chris Terrio. Veteran cinematographer Roger Deakins picked up the Best Cinematography award for his impressive work on Skyfall
