Despite signing Howard Stern to be a judge on the next season of America’s Got Talent, producers are looking for a fourth judge to add to the table.

Producer Simon Cowell spoke to the New York Post about the decision.

Quotage from NYP:

With Howard Stern joining the show last week, Cowell says he and NBC are looking to balance the judges table out with “somebody younger. A girl. Someone who will not be afraid of Sharon and Howard and fight for a different type of act than they would.”

Cowell says he already has a short list of name and hopes to have the entire panel in place in the next four weeks.

Host Nick Cannon and judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne have not all officially signed on for season seven yet, but Cowell says he is “99 percent certain they will all be back.”

“America’s Got Talent” — which will originate from New York this summer — begins filming live audition episodes in Los Angeles in February.

Despite a weekly audience of more than 15 million, Cowell concedes “AGT” is in serious need of an overhaul.
“It has to become younger,” he says. “It has to be more relevant.”

For season seven, viewers will notice new graphics, new theme music and a larger, louder studio audience.

Do you think the show needs a fourth judge on top of the addition of Howard Stern? It will certainly feel like an entirely new show, and we’re looking forward to all of the changes.
