America’s Got Talent was live from New York for the first time last night. Here’s our recap of last night’s jam-packed show (including a look at Nick Cannon’s choice in fashion).

The show began with a half hour look back at the audition and Vegas rounds. We hear how being on AGT has changed the contestants lives. Blah, blah, blah, we get it. Of course it has changed their lives, they’re on national TV for Pete’s sake! We got to see several outtakes, including Sharon and Howard going to work on the germaphobic Howie’s ear, much to his dismay. The “fun” eventually ends, and the real show begins.

The show kicked off with the Distinguished Men of Brass (D-Mo-Brass!). They looked fantastic and sounded as good as they could. Howard is right, a group with as powerful of a brass sound as they have doesn’t translate very well over TV, and it’s a shame. As somebody who has played trumpet for almost as much time in his life as he hasn’t, it’s clear that they have a very powerful, bright sound. It’s likely that they’re on the outside looking in, but they have a decent shot of making it into the semi-finals.

Next up was Edon, a 14-year-old singer/pianist. Howard noted that he doesn’t think Edon’s high notes are good and that they sound like a cat’s meow. Edon said that there are notes in the chorus that are sometimes too hard to reach and that if he doesn’t hit the note it’s over. Edon hits the note and it’s very unlikely that it’s over. Edon got one of the strongest crowd reactions of the night. When commenting on Edon’s performance, Howie made several Jewish jokes and should be ashamed of himself. Yes, Howie is Jewish, but there’s no need for that.

The magician duo Jarrett & Raja was next, and they set quite a standard for themselves in Vegas when they made an entire orchestra appear on stage. Their act is unique as it combines magic and music, and this time it included the song “Singing in the Rain.” They made people appear under towels, but their feet were showing and the live audience could clearly see how the tricked worked. It’s not likely they move on.

Lil Starr was next, and she’s the same as she always was. Sure, she’s adorable, very energetic, and very good for her age, but it’s just that. She’s good for her age, but only for her age. She really can’t compare with the other acts, and it can get boring watching her.

Todd Oliver was back this week with his talking dog Irving and Irving’s friend Lucy. The judges hit it on the head, it’s a funny and interesting premise, but his material isn’t funny. He could maybe be good with a second chance, but he won’t get one.

The American BMX Stunt Team did another dangerous, high flying act. It certainly is impressive doing what they do in such a confined space, but doing it on a stage makes it somewhat less than what it should be. It almost makes it boring. They’re probably really close to making it, but they likely will be sent home.

Singer/songwriter Nikki Jensen made a bold decision to get rid of her guitar and just sing. She actually does have a pretty good voice and gave a solid performance. While she is talented, she isn’t one that is going to bring an audience in. This is probably the end of the road.

The Scott Brothers are a uniquely enjoyable dance act. There’s something amazing about a perfectly in sync dance act. Every act should strive to achieve this, and they have it perfected. They’re more than likely advancing to the semi-finals.

Michael Nejad, meet “uncensored” Howard Stern. No, Stern isn’t truly uncensored, but he’s not holding much back. After all three judges gave Nejad the “X,” Stern absolutely let Nejad have it. To try to summarize it would be doing it an injustice, so you’ll just have to watch. Nejad clearly will be going home.

The 787 Crew had to come out with their best foot forward after their mistake in Vegas, but they came up only mediocre. It all seemed like everything they had done before, and it’s getting pretty boring. They have a shot of advancing, but it isn’t very good.

It’s been a subject of discussion of whether Shanice and Maurice Hayes work as a duo, or if Maurice would be better off without her father. It had been a legitimate question because Maurice has floundered at times, but last night was not one of these times. It was an absolutely perfect performance. This father/daughter combo is magical. The emotions this type of act can bring are unmatched.

Obviously the act of the night, David Girabaldi & His CMYK’s showed that they are simply brilliant. Already having an impressive act that they put on, they, quite literally, flipped it on it’s head last night. They will go far in this competition, but their act does not seem like one that could command an entire show as it would get repetitive.

We want to know your opinions on the “uncensored” Howard Stern.

One of the best things about the America’s Got Talent live shows is that Nick Cannon breaks into his impressive wardrobe of suits. With that in mind we bring you our latest feature:
