Last night America’s Got Talent was back for another round of auditions in New York City. Here’s our recap of last night’s performances.

While last night’s episode contained a good number of compelling acts, tonight’s episode was fairly underwhelming. Tonight featured a lot of acts that weren’t good and got sent home, and we won’t be reviewing those kinds of acts in any of these recaps.

John Pizzi was the first of the few good acts tonight. Pizzi’s ventriloquism act, whose characters were the three judges (and a child of two of them), captivated the audience. Howie even told Pizzi that he now likes one ventriloquist.

The next talented act to perform was the acrobalance and aerial duo of Donovan and Rebecca. They wowed the judges and audience alike with their power and beauty. Howard Stern told them that he couldn’t give them a big enough “yes.” Followers of Britain’s Got Talent, the first show in the Got Talent series, will recognize them as Crazee Horse from the first season of Britain’s Got Talent that aired in 2007.

Tim Cotter is a stand-up comedian. Often the stand up comedians who appear on AGT aren’t that good, but Cotter nailed every joke, and the previously brutal New York City audience was very receptive to him. Personally, I can’t wait to see what he brings next because everything he brought last night was so darn good.

The only other act worth mentioning is a dancer who goes by the name of Stepz. He was a very controversial act because Howard didn’t see that he was that original, Howie loved what he did, and Sharon was somewhat in between, but decided to let him on based solely because he has talent and wants to see more from him.

AGT will be back next Monday at 8 p.m. EST on NBC with auditions in Tampa Bay.
