America’s Got Talent will be adding Heidi Klum as a new judge this season. Klum will be AGT‘s fourth judge, and it is the first season that will feature four judges.

TMZ has reported that sources close to NBC have revealed that Heidi Klum will be joining America’s Got Talent season 8. This addition is a very last minute move as America’s Got Talent season 8 begins taping tomorrow. We’d normally be wary of a vague “source close to the show,” but TMZ also has gotten their hands on a photo that seems to confirm Klum as a judge. The photo shows Klum’s name under her ‘X’ that will light up when she votes against a contestant.

Heidi Klum has reality television judging experience that she’ll bring with her to America’s Got Talent. Since 2004, Klum has been the host, judge, and executive producer of Project Runway, a reality competition for budding fashion designers.

The show had been ready to enter season 8 with their traditional three judges, but Klum will join as the fourth. America’s Got Talent has reportedly wanted to add a fourth judge for last season, but that never happened.

NBC recently found their America’s Got Talent season 8 replacement for Sharon Osbourne in spice girl Mel B. After a long wait Howie Mandel re-signed with America’s Got Talent for season 8. He had always expressed his desire to return, but NBC didn’t give him the green light until recently. In December Howard Stern signed on for his second season of America’s Got Talent.

The show will certainly have a much different feel this season with four judges instead of three, and with Heidi Klum and Mel B joining the panel. We’re excited for these changes and hope the show improves with them.

Do you think Heidi Klum will be a good fit on ‘America’s Got Talent’?
