America’s Got Talent was live last night with the second semifinal and it will be tough to see exactly who will advance.

All male clogging group All That! promised that they had a trick that would be unlike any trick ever seen in another clogging or dance group. This trick turned out to be lighting their shoes on fire. Sharon said that she’s glad she’s brought them back, that she can’t anymore, and that it’s up to America now. Howie said he found it too one-dimensional. Howard liked that they focused on a few instead of the whole group and said that adding fire never hurts.

Mariachi singer Sebastien “El Charro de Oro” decided to perform the opera song “A City in Spain.” Howie said that he is truly amazing and that he can bring America more Spanish culture. Howard said that his voice needs work but that he’s a true showman. Sharon noted that Sebastien is living the dream and that she hopes America votes for him.

The Magic of Puck was told that he needed to go bigger in order to succeed on the show. Howard said he fullfilled that request. Sharon said the whole performance was flawless. Howie said he didn’t know how all the tricks were performed, which he said was rare.

After performing an amazing dive in their previous performance, Clint Carvalho and his bird Kitty performed a set of rapid-fire tricks. Howie said they did exactly what was needed, but he thinks it feels more like an amusement park show than a million dollar act that is the prize of America’s Got Talent. Sharon can’t believe that Kitty is 30 years old. Howard doesn’t think it feels like a million dollars and doesn’t think they can be one of the top three.

Comedian Jacob Williams had to take the tough position of being a comedian when there’s already a comedian (and a great one) in the final. Howie thinks this could be problem, but personally prefers him because he is funny because he is who he is regardless of his material. Sharon reiterated that he’s awkward. Howard thinks he stumbled with his material and thought he was too nervous.

Father/daughter singing combo Shanice and Maurice promised that Shanice would shine and her father would back her up, but it seemed as if it was opposite of that. Howard said he thought Maurice was too powerful and that he overshadowed his daughter. Sharon said that they had a great sound choice, but she agreed with Howard about the balance. Howie reiterated that he thinks Shanice is the star and thinks she needs to go away from her father.

The action sports variety act All Wheel Sports decided to perform a part of their act in the dark, which meant that part of it they were truly flying blind. Sharon thought that the major fall actually added to the act because it showed how dangerous the act truly is. Howard had previously said they needed an “oh wow!” moment, but didn’t get it. Howie again said that he doesn’t know if their act transfers over to television.

Tim Hockenberry is the one amazing singer in the year that singers aren’t going through. He chose to sing John Lennon’s “Imagine.” Howie said he’s fabulous and would buy his recordings, but he doesn’t think singing is original enough to make it on to America’s Got Talent‘s finals. Sharon liked the simplicity. Howard called his performance the most moving singing performance in a long time and thinks he should be in the finals.

The choreographer of The Untouchables was cut in America’s Got Talent‘s semifinals last year with his group the Miami All-Stars, and he hopes to avoid the same fate this year. Howard said their talent is incredible and their key is their youth. Howie said they did amazing, their hard work paid off, and he couldn’t ask for more. Sharon said they were absolutely fantastic.

The Olate Dogs probably have a better chance than anybody of making it into the finals because they are so talented and so cute. Sharon said “PLEASE, PLEASE! VOTE, VOTE!” Howard doesn’t know how America will put only three acts through and commends the Olate Dogs on their expertise. Howie thinks they deserve to be in the finals of America’s Got Talent.

Lightwire Theater proved again that they can use the dark to seemingly defy gravity, and that’s a huge weapon. Howie said it seemed like they created a futuristic 3d movie and that they deserve a million dollars. Sharon said they deserve and will get a headlining act of some kind. Howard said that they have a great talent of keeping people’s interest.

David Garibaldi and his CMYK’s kept the theme of painting something while not letting the audience know what it was by doing it in pieces. Howard said he is always amazed because he is a great performer, but thinks if he makes the final three, he needs to keep it moving faster. Sharon said he’s very passionate and original. Howie said he’s not just an entertainer, not just an artist, but he’s a creator. Howie said the best things are worth waiting for, and he’s glad he waited for Garibaldi.

Our predictions to advance: Olate Dogs for sure. Other than that it felt like all of the acts were really strong and none especially stood out, but since we have to pick two acts to advance we think the other two will be David Garibaldi and his CMYK’s and The Magic of Puck.

Which three acts do you think should advance?
