The top 6 sang songs by Carole King. While most shined, a few shined brighter! Check out our recap after the jump!

Last night we live chatted with fans during the performance episode of American Idol. We all talked about each contestant, what they were wearing, what we liked and didn’t like about the performances, and even gave them grades based on how well they did!

Overall, everyone did really well singing songs by legendary songwriter and artist Carole King. But it was James and Haley that stood out for those of us chatting. Check out the songs the contestants sang below as well as the grade they received from Hypable’s Idol fans!

Jacob Lusk – “Oh No Not My Baby” – Great vocals but seemed a bit over the top. He’s been in danger lately, and most likely going home tonight, if you ask me (and the chat room). Hypable chat gave him a C.

Lauren Alaina – “Where You Lead” – Writing this post I can’t even remember anything about her performance. Hypable chat gave her a B.

Scotty McCreery – “You’ve Got A Friend” – This wasn’t a bad performance by any means, but not sure it was going to stick in viewers’ eyes. He may be in danger tonight. Hypable chat gave him a C.

James Durbin – “Will You Love Me Tomorrow?” – Definitely one of the best performances of the night, if not the best. Hypable chat gave him an A!

Casey Abrams – “Hi Dee Ho” – This was musically fantastic…but will it translate to people at home voting? I doubt it. Hypable chat gave him a C.

Haley Reinhart – “Beautiful” – The most up-tempo song of the night, it made me want to move around in my seat while she sang. She hasn’t been a fan favorite though, and may be in danger tonight. Hypable chat gave her an A!

The Hypable chat tonight thinks that Jacob will be going home tonight. I’d say it will be either Jacob, Casey or Haley. All for different reasons mentioned above. I think as it stands right now, I’d say the order of potential winning goes:

1. James Durbin
2. Casey Abrams
3. Lauren Alaina
4. Scotty McCreery
5. Haley Reinhart
6. Jacob Lusk
